I recently had the need to purchase the Feature Machining module as ive gotten more experience with 3D machining and alas, i was left to find the old Artcam website completely gutted and Autodesk trying to sell me a per month basis software. Honestly, the way Delcam had the different versions and the ability to add modules depending on what exactly YOU need was excellent. I started to purchase modules as my needs and skills grew and as a student, i wasnt paying an extremely high fee for these modules. I have Artcam Express 2015 R2 and it was a good place to start when i first got my machine.
This user experience is a perfect -not to do so- example. I'm unsure what to do to get a software like Insignia without new bugs. Hopefully my dongle for Artcam Express R2 will not die. Note: I do not mean the support here from people like Dillon.Īfter a couple of days of looking for info at this website regarding Express R2, Insignia R2, Standard or Pro, I am disillusionised. Besides that, it's not understandable, why taking over Delcam's Artcam product range AND change the editions in one process WITHOUT taking care of existing customer's interests. I know from other posts too, that a demo version of Standard is in progress.
From an other post regarding the Face Wizard in the PRO Edition I saw it's buggy. Nowhere I am able to compare Insignia with Standard, the features that matters most are Face Wizard and machining with a rotary axis. But not the money matters, the way you do does. I am nowhere able to try out a demo version of Standard, only if I purchase at least a single month description. I think, subscriptions are not always a bad way to bind customers, the way you do is totally below suboptimal. What a shame, Autodesk! Even if I where willing to purchase an Insignia like product, say the Standard Edition, I will not be able to do so, cause you offer subscription only. Thank you Dillon for your support!Īfter Autodesk took over Delcam Artcam I was told, that no selling of modules is going on. Even if the total sum where a couple percent higher then purchasing Artcam Insignia directly.
After Delcam announced their improvements in toolpath simulation it was a no brainer for me, to buy the next edition again. Ever and always convinced to invest in the right product on the way to upgrade to Artcam Insignia within two to three years, while purchasing module after module on the way. That was the main reason to start where I started - I bought Artcam Express first. I am a user of Artcam Express R2 2015, I absolutly loved Delcams Artcam ability to enhance this product with several modules.
